The 2023 Cleveland Classic was a battle of proportions. Twelve of the world’s top twenty female professional squash players, including the defending champion, Georgina Kennedy from England, played in the event. She faced tough competition in the finals against USA’s Olivia Clyne. This breathtaking match had spectators on the edge of their seats and concluded with Ms. Kennedy retaining her title.
The Junaid Family Foundation is delighted to have participated in the PSA Women’s World Championship as the event’s title sponsor. We applaud this event and PSA Women’s World Championship for setting a high bar that increases women’s leadership in the future of sports, closes the gap in investment in women’s sports, advocates for equal participation by both genders, and reduces bias in representation by the media and others. In addition, in 2019-20, the PSA Women’s World Championship offered a prize purse greater than the Men’s World Championship for the first time in squash history. And in 2020, PSA officially signed the United Nations Sport for Generation Equality Initiative. How’s that for positive change?
