The Pan American Masters Games (PAMG) concluded in Cleveland on Sunday, July 21st, with a Farewell Celebration sponsored by the Junaid Family Foundation (JFF) and Supply Side. After an epic week of competition, skill, and sportsmanship, we closed the chapter on this event in Cleveland’s history.
Ansir Junaid, Chairman of JFF and co-chair of the local organizing committee for the games, opened the ceremony with a heartfelt speech expressing gratitude and appreciation to all those involved in the years of effort it took to host the PAMG. The Greater Cleveland Sports Commission and the International Masters Games Association hosted a truly once-in-a-lifetime event.
The games held a special place in Mr. Junaid’s heart. He stated…,
“Through the Foundation, we strive to empower vulnerable populations. Whether that means people from a different culture, country, or gender, sports are a way to bring the world together and create peace. More importantly, sports are the means to health and wellbeing, and we believe that this is critical to social welfare.”
Ansir Junaid, Chairman of the Junaid Family Foundation
With 4,000 athletes from over 70 countries participating in 23 different sports, Cleveland welcomed people from far and wide to experience our great city. JFF was proud to sponsor the PAMG and take part in these memorable events. We look forward to supporting more initiatives that celebrate diversity, promote health, and unite communities through the power of sports.
The Pan American Masters Games began with a Welcome Celebration on Saturday, July 13th featuring a parade of athletes and flags from every participant’s country. This event kicked off over a week of sporting events held at venues across Cuyahoga County, concluding with the Farewell Celebration. Congratulations to all participating athletes and thank you to each sponsor for making the PAMG a success!
